The 2025 Programme

BREAKING NEWS – Opening tonight with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe: soprano Golda Schultz unable to perform due to health reasons

The Settimane Musicali di Ascona and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe regret to announce that Golda Schultz, the highly anticipated soloist of this evening's opening concert of the 80th edition, will not be performing at 8 p.m. in the Church of San Francesco in Locarno due to a sudden health issue.

Consequently, the programme, which was originally dedicated to vocal works by Gershwin, Weill, Stravinsky, Korngold and Bernstein, will undergo a substantial change. Robin Ticciati will conduct the orchestra in performing Schreker's Kammersymphonie as planned at the beginning of the concert and Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite as the closing work - Beethoven's 8th Symphony has been added to the programme.

The organisers sincerely apologise to the audience for this unexpected change and thank all concertgoers for their understanding.
